Greenpeace welcomes signing of Global Ocean Treaty in Ukraine
Ukraine announced its support to the Global Ocean Treaty - UN Agreement on Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction . Greenpeace Ukraine welcomes this decision, understanding that it was approved in the face of the outstanding challenges the country currently faces.
Natalia Gozak, office director of Greenpeace Ukraine: `Today Ukraine showed true leadership on the international arena, taking the decision to join the Treaty. Even in the face of outstanding war challenges and the nation's survival as a political priority, Ukraine managed to stay in line with the European priorities and global sustainability goals. If it’s possible here, it’s possible for other countries. We welcome this decision and hope that ratification of the Treaty will follow very soon.`
